Manage Insights

The existing Insights are stored in Reporting Intelligence > Intelligence Layer > Configure > Insights. In this space, you can view and manage Insights, for example enable or disable, editor delete them.

Enable Insights

Before you start:

The Insights Agent analyzes the report data each time the report is run. Make sure that your report is scheduled to run before enabling Insights.

To enable Insights, follow these steps:

Navigate to Reporting Intelligence > Intelligence Layer > Configure > Insights. The software displays a list of reports for which you can enable Insights.

  1. Locate the report for which you want to activate Insights.
  2. (Optional) For convenience, you can use the following filters:
    • View options - select between Created by me and Shared by me.
    • Date Range - select the date or date range for which you want to search reports for.
  3. Enable the Insights toggle for the selected report.

You have enabled insights for a report. Every time the report is run, the insights agent analyzes the report data and sends the insights to Reports Center > Intelligence Layer > Results.

View Insights History for a Report

To view insights history for a specific report, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Reporting Intelligence> Reports Center > Configure > Insights and on the list of reports find the one you want to view.
  2. Click on the report. Alternatively, click the icon and from the list of options select View Details. The software displays the modal containing report information, report description, and Insights history for this report categorized by business views.
  3. (Optional) You can edit the Insight settings for this report if needed by clicking the Edit button.
  4. (Optional) Enable the Run Insights on this report toggle to enable or disable Insights for this report.
  5. After reviewing the report details, click Okay to close the modal.

After viewing the history, you may, for example view details of an Insight that has caught your attention.

View Insights Details

You can view the details of an Insight by following these steps:

  1. Navigate to Reporting Intelligence> Reports Center > Configure > Insights and on the list of reports find the one you want to view.
  2. Click on the report. Alternatively, click the icon and from the list of options select View Details. The software displays the Details modal containing report information, report description, and Insights history for this report.
  3. From the list in Insights by Business View, click on an item you'd like to view details for. The software displays an Insight details, including:
    • Summary
    • Impact and Recommendations
    • Report Info, including owner, severity, report source.
    • Who the report has been shared with.
  4. (Optional) Click the Access Report in Excel button to open the related report in Excel.

After viewing an Insight details, you may edit the Insight.

Edit Insights

To edit Insights settings, for example Insights frequency or sharing options, do the following:

  1. Navigate to Reporting Intelligence> Reports Center > Configure > Insights and on the list of reports find the one you want to view.
  2. Click on the Insight. Alternatively, click the icon and from the list of options select Edit. The software displays the Edit Insights modal.
  3. Define Insights frequency, Day and Time by selecting values from dropdowns.
  4. In the Share insights with field, define e-mail address of a user with whom you want to share insights with.
  5. Select how you want to be notified that an Insight has been generated. You can choose Homepage or E-mail alerts.
  6. Confirm the changes by clicking Done.

You've edited Insights settings. The software will apply the changes.
