Business Views Overview
Business views expose report data as structured datasets that external tools can query. A single report can produce many business views, one for each named range or table you select when publishing. Each named range or table defines a specific slice of data in the report. Named ranges carry the name assigned to them in the report, while tables are identified automatically as Table1, Table2, and so on. Each selected named range or table becomes a separate business view with its own OData URL that any compatible tool can use to connect to that data.
In Reports Center, upload your report and publish as business views, selecting the tables and named ranges to expose. Business views refresh each time the associated report runs on a schedule, so the data they expose stays current. Once published, the business view becomes available in Data Hub.
Once published, the business view becomes available in Data Hub.
In Data Hub, you can review your published business views and use them to connect your data to external tools. Specifically, you can:
- Copy the business view URL and use it in any OData-compatible tool, such as Power BI, to connect to that specific business view.
- Delete business views you no longer need.
