Data Hub Overview

Data Hub is where you manage the end-to-end data pipeline for your ERP reporting - from connecting to your source systems, to replicating data, to accessing the business views that power your reports.

It has three modules that work in sequence: Connections, Replication Tasks, and Business Views.

Modules

Connections

Set up and manage connections to your ERP systems. The setup flow guides you through required fields only, keeping optional settings separate with sensible defaults. As you configure each connection, Data Hub validates your credentials in real time and provides clear success or error feedback before pulling any data. Once a connection is active, it surfaces the timestamp of the last successful replication so you always know how current your data is.

Data Hub supports the following ERP connectors:

  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
  • Infor FSM
  • Infor M3
  • NetSuite 2
  • Oracle ERP Cloud

Once you provision a replication environment and create a connection, Data Hub generates a gRPC endpoint for that environment. This is a high-performance data endpoint that insightsoftware products can use to access your replicated data. The endpoint URL is available under Integration Resources on the Connections page.

Replication Tasks

(Applies to Infor FSM, Infor M3, NetSuite, and Oracle ERP Cloud)

Create and schedule tasks that extract data from your connected ERP system and load it into your replication environment. Each task runs on a schedule you define. You can replicate entire tables or extract specific data. After the initial full data replication, only changed records are replicated, reducing load on your source system and cutting sync times. If your organization has multiple replication environments, you can switch between them without separate logins or context switching.

Business Central data is queried live, it always reflects the current state of your ERP. For all other connectors, data is copied from your source system into PostgreSQL tables in a dedicated replication environment and kept in sync through scheduled replication tasks. This keeps reporting performant without putting load on your source system.

Business Views

Browse the business views published for your organization. Business views are published from the Reports Center module in Reporting Intelligence and appear here once published. They refresh each time the associated report runs on a schedule.

From Business Views, you can copy the OData API URL, which includes the business view ID, to connect your published business views to any OData-compatible tool for use, such as Power BI. The general URL is also available under Integration Resources on the Connections page.

Workflow

The following shows how Data Hub fits into the broader Reporting Intelligence workflow.

  1. Configure your ERP system: Complete the required setup steps in your ERP before creating a connection. Each connector topic covers what is needed.
  2. Create a connection in Data Hub: Go to Connections and set up a connection to your ERP system. As part of this step, you set the ERP to the default environment or provision a replication environment (Production, UAT, or Development).
  3. Replicate your data (Infor FSM, Infor M3, NetSuite, Oracle ERP Cloud only):Create replication tasks or use predefined tasks to keep your data synchronized on a schedule.
  4. Connect your add-in (Reporting Intelligence for Other ERPs add-in only): Copy the gRPC endpoint from Integration Resources and paste it into the Application Configurator in Reporting Intelligence for Other ERPs. This connects the add-in to your replicated data.
  5. Publish business views in Reporting Intelligence: Go to Reports Center and publish uploaded reports (named ranges and tables) as business views.
  6. Use business views: Published business views appear in Data Hub under Business Views. Copy the business URL from Business Views or Integration Resources to connect your business views to any OData-compatible tool.
  7. Connect Reports Center to Power BI (Reporting Intelligence for Business Central Cloud add-in only): Use the business URL to connect business views in Power BI for dashboarding and analysis.
