Getting Started with Reporting Intelligence for BC Cloud

Reporting Intelligence for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Cloud (BC Cloud) from insightsoftware is a financial reporting tool that integrates with Microsoft Excel, connecting directly to your Business Central environment. It allows real-time data refresh and drill-down capabilities within Excel, enhancing financial analysis and reporting. Designed for finance professionals, it minimizes the need for IT support and ensures data security and version control.

Components

Reporting Intelligence for BC Cloud consists of the following components:

  • Excel Add-In — a desktop add-in for financial reporting in Excel. Reporting Intelligence for BC Cloud formulas used in Excel allow you to create reports using familiar business and accounting terms, rather than technical specifications.
  • Excel Online Add-In — an online add-in for financial reporting in Excel Online, providing the same reporting capabilities in a browser-based environment.

Before You Begin

Before installing Reporting Intelligence for BC Cloud, verify the following:

  • Verify that your system meets the requirements on the System Requirements page.
  • If Jet Reports is installed on your machine, you must uninstall it completely before installing Reporting Intelligence for BC Cloud. Installing over an existing Jet Reports installation is not supported.
  • Reporting Intelligence for BC Cloud requires a Platform account. If you do not have a Platform account, contact your administrator.
  • Close any open Excel files before starting the installation.

Install Reporting Intelligence for BC Cloud

Follow the steps in the Install Reporting Intelligence for BC Cloud article to download and install the product on your machine.

Start Using Reporting Intelligence for BC Cloud

Once installed, open Excel and sign into Reporting Intelligence for BC Cloud from the Reporting Intelligence ribbon. Select Formula Builder to begin building reports against your Business Central data.
