A guide for existing Spreadsheet Server customers transitioning to Reporting Intelligence
Overview
Reporting Intelligence is insightsoftware's AI-powered reporting platform built on the foundation of Spreadsheet Server. If your organization has purchased Reporting Intelligence and you are transitioning from Spreadsheet Server, this guide covers what changes, what stays the same, and how to complete the transition.
The transition from Spreadsheet Server to Reporting Intelligence requires uninstalling Spreadsheet Server and then installing Reporting Intelligence on your machine. There is no automated migration process. The Reporting Intelligence installer automatically moves your existing configuration files to secure cloud storage during installation. This process runs in the background and does not require any action from you.
Supported ERPs
Reporting Intelligence is available for the following enterprise resource planning systems:
- Oracle Cloud ERP
- NetSuite
- Infor FSM
- Infor M3
What Changes
How You Sign In
After moving to Reporting Intelligence, you sign in at app.insightsoftware.com using your insightsoftware account credentials. If you previously accessed a separate data integration portal, that portal is no longer available after migration. All access is through the insightsoftware Reporting Intelligence platform.
Where Your ERP Connections Live
Your existing data environments, connections, and replication tasks are unchanged. They are now accessible through Data Hub within Reporting Intelligence. Your connections are not recreated. The same environments you have configured continue to work through the new interface. For detailed instructions on managing your connections in Data Hub, refer to the Data Hub documentation.
New Features in Reporting Intelligence
Reporting Intelligence adds the following capabilities on top of your existing Spreadsheet Server experience:
- Reports Center: Cloud-based report distribution, scheduling, and sharing
- AI Assistants: AI-powered tools to help you search documentation and analyze business trends automatically
Add-In Options
Reporting Intelligence offers two ways to access reporting:
- Desktop Add-In: Locally installed with full formula support
- Online Add-In: Browser-based Excel add-in running in Excel Online with support for GXL, GXC, and GEXQ formulas
What Stays the Same
Your Reporting Intelligence desktop add-in provides the same formula set, toolbar functionality, and reporting experience you use with Spreadsheet Server today.
Reports Center
Reports Center is the cloud platform in Reporting Intelligence where your reports are stored, scheduled, shared, and executed. After moving to Reporting Intelligence, Reports Center is available as a menu item in the Reporting Intelligence platform.
From Reports Center, you can:
- Store and organize reports in a central location accessible to your team
- Schedule automated report generation and distribution
- Open reports directly in Excel Online from any web browser
- Share reports with other team members in your organization
