Disable or Enable Formula Calculations

Other ERPs - this article only applies to Reporting Intelligence for other ERPs

Disabling calculations effectively halt the various Reporting Intelligence formula calculations in Excel spreadsheets. As a result, GXD and GEXQ formulas will return the SS Not Connected value and GXL formulas will return 0. If calculations are disabled, Reporting Intelligence cannot communicate with the host.

Disabling Reporting Intelligence formula calculations is useful:

  • For discontinuing the calculation of a complex or long-running spreadsheet.
  • If a workbook with the calculation option set to automatic is opened.
  • If creating a new worksheet, or modifying an existing worksheet by adding columns and/or rows with Reporting Intelligence formulas, and switching a format to or from the range type period.

Disable Formula Calculations

In Excel, from the Reporting Intelligence Ribbon, select Enabled, or, click the drop-down list, then Disable, or, click Tools > Disconnect All Open Connections. The system then disconnects from the host.

Enable Formula Calculations

  1. In Excel, from the Reporting Intelligence Ribbon, select Disabled, or, click the drop-down list, then Enable. The sign in dialog box appears, based on the selected ledger.
  2. Note: For Data Warehouse and most Designer GL ledgers, no dialog box appears.

  3. Type your sign in credentials and click OK.
  4. Note: If unattended (auto) sign in is enabled, this step is not applicable.
