JD Edwards Sign In

Other ERPs - this article only applies to Reporting Intelligence for other ERPs

Follow the below steps to start the add-in component of Reporting Intelligence for JD Edwards ledgers.

Note: If a user's Product Settings are set to start during Excel startup, step 2 is not applicable. If unattended (auto) sign in is enabled, steps 3 and 4 are not applicable.

  1. Open Excel.
  2. In Excel, from the Reporting Intelligence Ribbon, select Disabled (or, click the down arrow under the Disabled button, and click Enable). The JD Edwards Login dialog box appears.
  3. Two methods are available for signing into Reporting Intelligence:
  4. Pre-defined Connection User Name

In the JD Edwards Login: dialog box, specify the following fields:

    • User ID: defaults to the user name assigned to the user in Application Configurator.
    • Password: required only if a password was created for the user in Application Configurator.
    • Retrieve account balances from local database: optionally, select the check box if desired (see step 4 for more information).

    <Sign-On>

In the Sign On to Reporting Intelligence dialog box, specify the following fields:

    • User ID - the standard database user name.
    • Password - the standard database password.
    • Retrieve account balances from local database: optionally, select the check box if desired (see step 4 for more information).
  5. If the Retrieve account balances from local database option is selected, click More, and specify the following:
    • Local Database Type: indicates the database type and connection, or database path.
    • Work in Local Mode without a connection
    • Note: If working without a connection, the user only has access to account balances in the local database file. As a result, drill downs to journals, GXEs to journals, GXDs, and list accounts will not be functional. Additionally, JD Edwards security is not utilized; however, the system continues to verify the user is a valid Reporting Intelligence user, therefore this user must have Application Configurator installed on their machine.

  6. Click OK.

See Sign In, Control Panel, Disable or Enable Formula Calculations, and Reset Host Server Connection for more information.
