Connections Overview

Data Hub connects to your data source systems to retrieve the data you need for reporting. A connection stores the credentials and settings Data Hub needs to authenticate with your source system and retrieve data from it.

Review this topic and then select your ERP to learn how to create a connection:

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Infor FSM Infor M3 NetSuite Oracle ERP Cloud

Before you connect

Permissions

You need the Admin, Designer, or Power User role in Reporting Intelligence to create, test, edit, and delete connections. Viewers can test connections but cannot make changes.

Connection limits

The number of connections you can create depends on your organization's subscription. For example, if your organization has purchased two SKUs, you can create two connections. This limit applies to all connectors except Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

ERP setup

Before creating a connection, you must complete the required setup steps in your ERP system. Each connector topic covers what is needed.

Note: Connectors that use replicated data require a replication environment (Production, UAT, or Development) and replication tasks to be created and scheduled to extract and sync your ERP data. You can provision an environment when creating a connection or from the Integration Resources screen, and create a replication task from the Replication Tasks screen after establishing a connection. For more information, see Create a Replication Task.

Connections in Reporting Intelligence

Data Hub connections power everything in Reporting Intelligence. Depending on your ERP system, data is either queried live or replicated on a schedule, this determines how your add-in accesses it for reporting.
